To celebrate 30 years of Scandinavian design, we created a coffee table book
Carpe Diem Beds
The publication brought together international architects, interior designers, and cultural voices, offering a curated exploration of comfort, aesthetics, and innovation.
To mark Carpe Diem Beds’ 30th anniversary, we partnered with the brand to concept and create Bedrooms as Sanctuaries, a coffee table book that explores the bedroom as the most personal space of all. Our studio led the project from start to finish, shaping the editorial concept, visual identity, and creative direction.
The book invites readers to reimagine the bedroom not just as a place to sleep, but as a restorative sanctuary. Through four immersive chapters, it weaves together design principles, sleep science, and intimate storytelling. Contributors include sleep specialist Stephanie Romiszewski, who offers myth-busting insights on how to improve rest, and interior expert Frida Ramstedt, who shares practical design frameworks and emerging trends.
At the heart of the book is a collection of visionary bedroom concepts from 14 leading figures in architecture, design, and culture. Each contributor, including Haute Couture designer Lars Wallin and architects Thomas Sandell and Knut Bendik Humlevik, was invited to imagine a personal sanctuary centred around a bed from Carpe Diem Beds. The results range from bold and expressive to calm and minimalist, each one offering a unique perspective on comfort, ritual, and rest.
With striking imagery and thoughtful essays, Bedrooms as Sanctuaries is both a visual journey and a practical guide. It celebrates Carpe Diem Beds’ heritage while positioning rest as an essential art form, supported by design and lived with intention.
